The Quality Control Analyst will work under the supervision of the Manager of Compliance, will be responsible for performing internal quality control reviews on single-family mortgage, multi-family, and commercial loans as part of CHFA’s Quality Control Program; assisting in the development and implementation of CHFA’s quality control and compliance programs; identifying and recommending process improvements and issues resolution; and assisting with the development of and guidance in the implementation of policies, processes, and procedures related to quality control and compliance.

essential functions
This position will:
• Perform various single-family, multi-family, and/or commercial loan origination and servicing quality control reviews within required timeframes.
• Review loan documentation for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to underwriting and programmatic standards.
• Conduct research and analysis of applicable legal, regulatory, and programmatic requirements including investor, insurer, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac requirements.
• Ensure loans meet established guidelines and regulatory requirements, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, USDA-RD, internal requirements, and other investor standards.
• Collaborate with various business units and other relevant parties to mitigate identified loan level issues.
• Assist in the preparation of quality control reports to management including collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
• Assist in the development of corrective action plans and monitor their implementation.
• Provide support and guidance to staff on compliance and quality control requirements.
• Participate in evaluating current loan review processes and provide feedback and recommendations to increase efficiency and risk management capabilities.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining ongoing quality control and compliance programs.
• Assist in developing compliance tools, such as policies, checklists, processes, and procedures.
• Perform other compliance and quality control duties, as assigned.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending training and educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking best practices; and participating in professional societies.
• Actively participate in cross-functional project teams as needed.
• Perform additional reasonable related tasks as may be deemed necessary from time to time by management.

knowledge, skills and ability
Must possess:
• Knowledge of policies, principles, and practices of mortgage loan processing, underwriting, and servicing.
• Familiarity with federal and state laws and regulations relating to residential mortgage lending.
• Knowledge of investor guidelines and programmatic requirements, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, USDA-RD, and VA.
• Strong analytical, research, observational, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to recognize complex issues and review related information to develop and evaluate options and possible solutions for business unit implementation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work discreetly with confidential information.

experience/education
Requires a minimum of 2 years previous experience in mortgage processing, underwriting, quality control, or compliance, including experience with conventional and government loans. Previous experience in reviewing and analyzing mortgage documentation, Automated Underwriting System (AUS) findings, and calculating loan ratios and variables, and other loan pertinent documentation. College degree preferred.

The incumbent in this position will perform the essential functions of the position in a hybrid environment, which requires sitting at a desk for the majority of the day with or without requirements. This position requires moderate to high levels of interaction and collaboration with others.

salary range
$64,000 – $77,000
