Job Title: Front-End Developer
Department: KlearTrust

Reports To: Executive Vice President, Operations
FLSA Class : Exempt

Position Summary
The KlearTrust platform supports multiple stakeholders who collaborate to manage warranties for high-cost therapies, particularly specialty pharmaceutical products. It delivers applications, visualizations, and documents to users from pharmaceutical manufacturers, payers, and providers, as well as to internal service and support teams. The Front-End Developer will design, build, and maintain elements of the KlearTrust platform, providing compelling, easy to use tools to platform users.
Essential Functions and Duties
• Participate in the design of the overall application lifecycle.
• Work with designers, teammates, and executives to develop the overall look and design of the KlearTrust applications suite.
• Work with teammates and executives to understand the business strategy and user requirements that drive application design.
• Write front-end web applications code using JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Next.js
• Work with Back End Engineers and third-party contractors to design, implement, and test services that integrate UI components with APIs and databases.
• Test applications and features for ease of use, performance, and compliance with requirements.
• Ensure that KlearTrust’s applications are useable and function correctly across target platforms, operating systems, and browsers.
• Debug errors, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine performance optimizations.
• Provide training, help and support to other team members.
• Conduct PR code reviews from your peers, both frontend and backend
• Availability to work overtime if needed to meet deadlines.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Required Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field, or four (4) years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
• Professional certifications for front-end development, cloud architectures, or security preferred.
Required Knowledge:
• In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment).
• Deep knowledge of the characteristics of browsers and platforms that host web applications.
Preferred Knowledge:
• Understanding of techniques for interacting with web services.
• Understanding of back-end technologies and databases.
• Understanding of the healthcare data model from the provider and payer perspective.
• Understanding of healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA).
Required Experience:
• Must have at least four (4) years’ experience [eight (8) years for non-degreed candidates] in developing enterprise applications.
• Two (2) years work experience as a front-end developer.
Preferred Experience:
• Work in the healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or insurance industries.
• Experience developing, deploying, and supporting web applications in the AWS environment.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and practices.
• Work in an Agile development environment.
Required Skills:
• Proficiency in the use of HTML, DOM, JavaScript, and CSS to build web applications.
• Competence with respect to modern web application frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
• Ability to translate business and user requirements to build highly useable and compelling features and applications.
• Initiative and effective independent decision-making skills.
• Excellent verbal communications skills.
Preferred Skills:
• Ability to build web applications using the React framework and Next.js.
• TypeScript skills and competence with regard to type-safe application development.
• Ability to translate designs expressed in Figma to finished, working applications.
Physical requirements
Vision, hearing, speech, movements requiring the use of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Must have the ability to view a computer screen for long periods and the ability to sit for extended periods. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled. The employee occasionally lifts up to 20 lbs. and occasionally kneels and bends. Must have the ability to travel occasionally. Working condition include normal office setting/warehouse.

Must be able to pay close attention to detail and be able to work as a member of a team to ensure excellent customer service. Must have the ability to interact effectively with co-workers and customers, and exercise self-control and diplomacy in customer and employee relations’ situations. Must have the ability to exercise discretion as well as appropriate judgments when necessary. Must be proactive in finding solutions.
